The SMTX Mental Health Coalition was established on June 27, 2018 in partnership with the Center of P-16 Initiatives at Texas State University with the City of San Marcos Commission on Children and Youth to address availability of services for youth. The City of San Marcos Commission on Children and Youth has transitioned to the Core Four Policy Group and Core Four Task Force. For more information on the structure of the Core Four please refer to our homepage.
The SMTX Mental Health Coalition will now be facilitated by the Youth Services Director at Community Action, Inc. of Central Texas in partnership with the Core Four Partnership. A steering committee supports the work of the SMTX Mental Health Coalition. This includes members from the coalition who have taken a more active role in supporting the coalition.
SMTX Mental Health Coalition meetings are on the last Thursday of the month on a bi-monthly basis. The coalition meetings are hybrid. In-person meeting takes place at the Village of San Marcos- Boardroom from 1pm-2pm or by using the teams link.
The coalition is open to anyone in the community who has an interest in youth/young adult (Middle school, high school, & 19-24yrs) mental health needs in the Greater San Marcos Area.
